Had this conundrum in a restaurant a week ago... Gave up and had a rather tasty crumble instead. I feel your pain...

Either hot with cream or cold with hot custard I reckon, although it would need to be hot with ice-cream for me personally.

Had it tonight. Cold (well room temp, not out of the fridge cold) and hot custard. Was absolutely delicious, would have had a second helping if there were any. Enjoy.

Not a big fan of puds but I do like almondy ones!

Incidentally, when foraging you should discard anything that smells of almonds as it is usually poisonous (apart from almonds!).

This is the truth, listen and learn.

Anything with almonds in is wrong, and marzipan is the Devils' smegma.

Not that fussed by the almond debate, but Bakewell Pudding is foul. It was discovered after an accident, apparently, and has got no better over the centuries....

What kind of accident results in an almond based pudding?

11 yr old daughter brought home her first cooking project from "big school" today. Apple crumble, the whole things just been eaten. The future is very bright!

With ice cream, like the hot/cold combo.

I'm with Houns and Crikey

Mrs NBT's pudding barely made it out of the silver foil before being scoffed, never mind being heated or served *with* something.

Just head down to Peaslake Stores and pick up one of their exquisite home made Bakewell tarts. Possibly the best cake on the planet.

Adding custard is just unnecessary, but if you must then ensure it's cold.
