Off to bed soon(ish) for a 3am start and 230 mile drive before a days work in knee deep mud.

Don't mind to be honest (although would prefer it not to be quite so early).

Who's up for some graft and who's dreading it?

except for those bone idle, layabout, teachers that need to take an extra day out of term time for some training that could have been done last week so that my boys don't start back until Tuesday instead.....

gawd bless'em, salt of the earth, god's own educators, hard-pressed public servants that they are etc etc yadda yadda.

Still, I think we'll go to the Newent Falconry Centre and tease a Barn Owl instead. Just as well Im retired/self employed/unemployed. All much of a muchness 🙂

Self employed so looking forward to getting the money back in. tbh being self-employed makes going to work much easier!
May ride in to make the beginning and end of the day more satisfying 🙂

5 different subcontractors starting on site tomorrow with 3 weeks to complete what should be a minimum 6 week program. Director briefing at 9am. There's been days I've looked forward to more to be honest.

Enjoyed the break (and needed it) but looking forward to a very busy Jan and Feb.

Not looking forward to the train though, especially as I haven't bought my ticket.

Had enough washing up too 😉

Ask me in a few hours. For two weeks I've maintained a very successful mental block about anything to do with work. Haven't even been tempted to look at my emails. I'll lie awake tonight in a total panic as it all comes flooding back.

I can't wait. All christmases are awful because christmas is the worst time of the year but on top of that, this holiday has been just nasty. Properly shit. Deaths, illness, injuries, mopping up copious amounts of sick, financial problems.

it can all just stick it up it's own jacksie and I just pray to god it all gets better from tomorrow.

Just another manic Monday for me.

Was off sick for almost 4 months last year, desperate to get back in the office.

Been back for 2 months and sick to the back teeth of it again.

Make what you will of that.

Absolutely ****ing dreading it. Have already been back in for two and a half days last week and it just made me realise what an abomination the next few weeks and months are going to be.

But it's all relative. I don't live in a war zone, or struggle to find food or clean water, so it can't be all that bad.

I even get to ride my bike (badly) a couple of times a week.

Really can't be arsed, but I have a new member of staff starting tomorrow. And I have promised myself I am going to be positive this year. Last year was awful as my wife faced surgery for cancer. As said above there is far worse happening to others, but even so, I'd love another few days.

cycling.
Not looking forward to the first shift tomorrow .on a positive note I'm on late shift for the first new year in ages. 🙂

I doubt i'll be going in t'morn, had the lurgy for well over a week and i still feel drained with helluva weak muscles/hacking cough and hot/cold/hot/cold so i don't fancy a 4 mile uphill cycle to work and then standing/working for 7 hours then cycling back home. I'll see how i feel when i wake up t'morn.

Only had the B/H days off so not much change from a normal workday - not looking forward to the return of the commuter traffic though, the rides in have been far more enjoyable on the empty roads.

A little from column A, a little from column B.

Looking forward to kicking some new stuff off but pressure will be definitely on to complete mop up of pre-Christmas projects and submit final proposal for next phase. Very busy January ahead.

I'm sort of looking forward to it, the lack of structure to the xmas period always ends with me feeling listless/aimless. This enthusiasm'll fade as soon as I hear the first munchkin shouting "I'MNOTDOINGTHATJOBIT'SF*****'SHIT" when they see the worklist. That may even be before I clock in 🙄

Unassigned tomorrow so nothing to do really, then off to Sweden on Tuesday evening. Quite enjoying this project, so not feeling down at all. It's snowed a bit over the holiday there so should be beautiful. Will probably take running kit this week, maybe the bike next week.

Start a new job tomorrow after 4 months unemployed and to be honest I'm bricking it, well out of my comfort zone......
Fully kitted out van selling workshop supplies tools etc but the thought of walking into garages etc and trying to sell them stuff is scaring me to death.....seem like a very good company and a good set up so will have to give it a shot...
So if anybody in the Manchester and surrounding areas needs any supplies let me know

Sometimes it's a vocation/profession, sometimes it feels like a job. It was the latter for the several weeks prior so I'm hoping that it'll feel more like the former... fingers crossed.

Pretty ambivalent to be honest.
Have enjoyed getting out riding a lot over the break, but work is ok and keeps me busy and able to buy toys so can't complain.
Should I be going back to my previous place of work my view would be substantially different, but thats why it was a previous one.

Oh my heart bleeds for all you office bound workaholics.
No it really does, I wouldn't do it for 10 times my salary. Can't think of any place I'd rather work less. Wasting your lives in front of computers, in meetings and boring PowerPoint presentations. Nooooo thanks. Not for me.
I've done 4 days between Christmas up to Saturday, and it's been bliss. No traffic, got some tidying up and organising done, fixed a few bikes, eaten a bit of cake, that sort of thing.
Plus, I don't need to waste holiday days in crap weather. Gonna take it all in the summer. Got 4 holidays of between 4 and 16 days planned already. 🙂

Not arsed, same sh17 different pile. I will just crack on and think to myself, I hate most of the tw4ts I deal with and would never let them enter my social life.

However my lad has gone back to Lympstone for his second phase of training to be a Royal Marines Commando, hes not looking forward to another 16 weeks of beasting after 2 weeks of being warm and comfy, good grub, beer and parties.

In his worlds, Im going back to hell. 😀

Quite looking forward to it.
Started a new job 1st of December and the last month has let me find my feet before it gets back to normal.
The whole department needs sorting out and I should find out in the next few weeks if anyone else qualified is to be appointed otherwise I might get the nod to take over. Potentially huge jump in responsibility so a bit nervous.
