MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Off to bed soon(ish) for a 3am start and 230 mile drive before a days work in knee deep mud.
Don't mind to be honest (although would prefer it not to be quite so early).
Who's up for some graft and who's dreading it?
I'm retired 😆
I'm off for a lot longer just a few meetings at the end of the week.
I'm considering retirement. I'm 28.
I'm off tomorrow been at work all weekend.
Does anyone want my job? Cos I don't. (I'll keep the money though).
except for those bone idle, layabout, teachers that need to take an extra day out of term time for some training that could have been done last week so that my boys don't start back until Tuesday instead.....
gawd bless'em, salt of the earth, god's own educators, hard-pressed public servants that they are etc etc yadda yadda.
Still, I think we'll go to the Newent Falconry Centre and tease a Barn Owl instead. Just as well Im retired/self employed/unemployed. All much of a muchness 🙂
Self employed so looking forward to getting the money back in. tbh being self-employed makes going to work much easier!
May ride in to make the beginning and end of the day more satisfying 🙂
Goto our depot in morning and see which job i'm on. If its the job I think i'll be on then yep more than happy if its the other job then no not really looking forward to it.
Meh.
Job, yes.
Leaving family and particularly mrs_oab who is really ill, no.
Unemployed.
I'm in denial.
Unemployed, better get in touch with the DWP tomorrow
5 different subcontractors starting on site tomorrow with 3 weeks to complete what should be a minimum 6 week program. Director briefing at 9am. There's been days I've looked forward to more to be honest.
Off to bed soon(ish) for a 3am start and 230 mile drive before a days work in knee deep mud.
Sod that.
I might not go. I'm self employed.
Bit scared here, I've got two meetings with a Secretary of State next week 😯
Commute from hell, no doubt...
Then got a nightmare drawing to be getting on with. It's complicated and boring, so no enthusiasm for it....bleurgh...
Fine. I enjoy my job - would much rather stay home though.
New software release wot I partly rote has just happened so there's gonna be some flames to put out, I expect! Fun fun fun...
Enjoyed the break (and needed it) but looking forward to a very busy Jan and Feb.
Not looking forward to the train though, especially as I haven't bought my ticket.
Had enough washing up too 😉

+1
I love my job,Mondays are never a problem.
This did not happen by chance.
Ask me in a few hours. For two weeks I've maintained a very successful mental block about anything to do with work. Haven't even been tempted to look at my emails. I'll lie awake tonight in a total panic as it all comes flooding back.
I can't wait. All christmases are awful because christmas is the worst time of the year but on top of that, this holiday has been just nasty. Properly shit. Deaths, illness, injuries, mopping up copious amounts of sick, financial problems.
it can all just stick it up it's own jacksie and I just pray to god it all gets better from tomorrow.
I'm going to ride in to get the week off to a decent start. Well I was until I saw the weather forecast. Freezing fog. Hurray!
I've got all week off 🙂
First leave since the beginning of August.
Blown up boiler to remove and replace tomorrow ... if I'm doing it then sore fingers and shoulders... If I'm the "gofor" then tired and a git of a first day back.. love winter me.
Completely in denial! As well as doing my own job, I am picking up all the pieces left by someone who's left. Two jobs, one wage packet- nice!
Just another manic Monday for me.
Was off sick for almost 4 months last year, desperate to get back in the office.
Been back for 2 months and sick to the back teeth of it again.
Make what you will of that.
Unemployed, flying to Australia on the 15th.
One way ticket, wish me luck!
conversely I've worked 15 out of the last 17 days, including Xmas day, Boxing day, NY eve and NY day, so tomorrow is a very welcome day off!
Edit: good luck!
i was back the day after christmas, so feels like a normal Sunday to me
Absolutely ****ing dreading it. Have already been back in for two and a half days last week and it just made me realise what an abomination the next few weeks and months are going to be.
But it's all relative. I don't live in a war zone, or struggle to find food or clean water, so it can't be all that bad.
I even get to ride my bike (badly) a couple of times a week.
glad to be back.
Just to give me some kind of "helpful" heads up, I've been getting texts since Saturday morning from two of my team who are in all weekend about what awaits me tomorrow a.m.
It's not going to be pretty...

Good luck!
Really can't be arsed, but I have a new member of staff starting tomorrow. And I have promised myself I am going to be positive this year. Last year was awful as my wife faced surgery for cancer. As said above there is far worse happening to others, but even so, I'd love another few days.
I got back to the smoke late last night after 13 blissful nights in Cumbria .
Caught up with family ,friends& sleep.Had some lovely food, good crack and managed to fit in a decent amount of
cycling.
Not looking forward to the first shift tomorrow .on a positive note I'm on late shift for the first new year in ages. 🙂
I have one day's grace, back to work on Tuesday. Not looking forward to it. Thinking of escape plans. Call it a midlife crisis.
I doubt i'll be going in t'morn, had the lurgy for well over a week and i still feel drained with helluva weak muscles/hacking cough and hot/cold/hot/cold so i don't fancy a 4 mile uphill cycle to work and then standing/working for 7 hours then cycling back home. I'll see how i feel when i wake up t'morn.
Im getting home for holidays starting tomorrow. 9 am chopper to the mainland 🙂
Only had the B/H days off so not much change from a normal workday - not looking forward to the return of the commuter traffic though, the rides in have been far more enjoyable on the empty roads.
Been on holiday since end of September - looking forward to doing a bit tbh.
Dont mind going back to work its the 8am dental appointment I'm not looking forward too
I'm off for another week yet, I'll be riding in the hills whilst I think of you lot slaving away.
Don't feel sorry for me, I'll be joining you all next week 😛
It should be Ok
But was really ill Jan Feb last year so slightly worried that it may happen again (no logic really)
Sick! Up at 5 am to drive to Portsmouth for the week ( every week away from home for me). My little boy is currently sobing his heart out over it 🙁
A little from column A, a little from column B.
Looking forward to kicking some new stuff off but pressure will be definitely on to complete mop up of pre-Christmas projects and submit final proposal for next phase. Very busy January ahead.
Have worked over xmas and the new year , so not really been off ! .. so tomorrow is just another start to a 60hr week !

Good luck mate. I feel this needs some explanation, circumstances to get you here and plans for the future?
I'm sort of looking forward to it, the lack of structure to the xmas period always ends with me feeling listless/aimless. This enthusiasm'll fade as soon as I hear the first munchkin shouting "I'MNOTDOINGTHATJOBIT'SF*****'SHIT" when they see the worklist. That may even be before I clock in 🙄
How do I feel?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrggghhh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks. I can't say I'm looking forward to it.
Unassigned tomorrow so nothing to do really, then off to Sweden on Tuesday evening. Quite enjoying this project, so not feeling down at all. It's snowed a bit over the holiday there so should be beautiful. Will probably take running kit this week, maybe the bike next week.
Start a new job tomorrow after 4 months unemployed and to be honest I'm bricking it, well out of my comfort zone......
Fully kitted out van selling workshop supplies tools etc but the thought of walking into garages etc and trying to sell them stuff is scaring me to death.....seem like a very good company and a good set up so will have to give it a shot...
So if anybody in the Manchester and surrounding areas needs any supplies let me know
Sometimes it's a vocation/profession, sometimes it feels like a job. It was the latter for the several weeks prior so I'm hoping that it'll feel more like the former... fingers crossed.
Hora jnr doesn't start school till Tuesday so looking to palm him off on the in-laws whilst I endure two hours in Calderdale 8)
Sick! Up at 5 am to drive to Portsmouth for the week ( every week away from home for me). My little boy is currently sobing his heart out over it
Aaw!
Give him a couple of years and he'll just grunt goodbye...
Not looking forward to getting up and I'd rather be staying at home but I generally don't mind going work tbh.
Can't wait. 8-10 hours of peace and quiet in a row. Heaven.
Can't wait to get back in the office tomorrow and laugh at the lazy self pitying whiners who didn't go in with me last week. 👿
Pretty ambivalent to be honest.
Have enjoyed getting out riding a lot over the break, but work is ok and keeps me busy and able to buy toys so can't complain.
Should I be going back to my previous place of work my view would be substantially different, but thats why it was a previous one.
I would love to go to work tomorrow.
I've been off for 4 years and probably won't be back soon 🙁
I can't bloody wait. I'm genuinely excited about the year ahead, completely to do with work. I might be either the saddest man alive or one of the luckiest!
Nope. Kind of hoping Brecon gets nuked between now and tomorrow morning.
I dread this day every year!
Can't wait to get back on the bike for the commute. Looking at everyone chewing on their steering wheels as I glide down the outside of the traffic jam will make my day a happier day.
Well I'd rather not but needs must.
Was in last Friday, so feels like a normal Sunday to me. Gonna be a big busy year, couple of weeks time we are back in camp for the 6 Nations, then the World Cup... 😯
Oh my heart bleeds for all you office bound workaholics.
No it really does, I wouldn't do it for 10 times my salary. Can't think of any place I'd rather work less. Wasting your lives in front of computers, in meetings and boring PowerPoint presentations. Nooooo thanks. Not for me.
I've done 4 days between Christmas up to Saturday, and it's been bliss. No traffic, got some tidying up and organising done, fixed a few bikes, eaten a bit of cake, that sort of thing.
Plus, I don't need to waste holiday days in crap weather. Gonna take it all in the summer. Got 4 holidays of between 4 and 16 days planned already. 🙂
I feel like a dick and will have to field loads of people asking about and staring at the large gash I put in my forehead yesterday
Having worked most of the last few weeks I am on 5 days off just now.....woohoo, and the kids go back to school tomorrow so piece and quite at home and time to go for a ride.

Is the Espresso machine bust ?
Not to fussed about going back in.
Looking forward to cycling in a bit more than usual for dinner reason.
I really can't be bothered.
Oh well, it will only be for 2 weeks and then I will be made redundant.
Need to find another job soon.
Enjoy my job but hate the fact I work away from home, family, kids etc...
Was in on Friday, complete waste of a day. Tomorrow will probably be fairly similar, as Tuesday's a holiday here 🙂
Not arsed, same sh17 different pile. I will just crack on and think to myself, I hate most of the tw4ts I deal with and would never let them enter my social life.
However my lad has gone back to Lympstone for his second phase of training to be a Royal Marines Commando, hes not looking forward to another 16 weeks of beasting after 2 weeks of being warm and comfy, good grub, beer and parties.
In his worlds, Im going back to hell. 😀
Running round in the mud and shooting guns? I'll take that! The bit after the training though... i'll stick to the computer screen and the occasional jolly into the mountains
Quite looking forward to it.
Started a new job 1st of December and the last month has let me find my feet before it gets back to normal.
The whole department needs sorting out and I should find out in the next few weeks if anyone else qualified is to be appointed otherwise I might get the nod to take over. Potentially huge jump in responsibility so a bit nervous.
