I don't care what a supercar is, or whether an F40 is 'better' than a Countach, but there have been some pretty rad and bonkers cars over the years so lets see of the ones that might have been forgotten. I'll start with the Lancia Stratos, probably one of the few cars that the designers must have put a lot of thought on how it looked from above, for people in helicopters.....or birds?

Lotus Carlton
Tickford Capri
Lotus Sunbeam/Cortina
Loving that CX sixer, being of a big family we had a few big cars as a kid, Cresta, Cambridge, Zodiac, Victor, Saab 95, Pug 504 Family and the fantastic CX Familiale.
There were quite a few non supercars with great styling by Bertone, Zagato, Giugiaro and the like through the sixties and seventies, but not many left as they were cheap at the time and not thought of as worth saving.
I remember looking for a Fiat X1/9
Getting one within my budget that was not FULL of rust proved impossible.
Not to everyone's taste but I'd love a series 1 RS turbo.
That little Alfa Junior looks like a right hoot. I loved the Fiat X19 and TR7 when I was a kid. On a similar note, the Porsche 916 (never heard of them when I was younger but I think they look pretty rad too):
And yeah, the Tickford Capri as mentioned above. Almost posted a pic of one on the supercar thread but feared I might get shot 😀 Awesome looking though 🙂
That Lancia Stratos does, indeed, look incredible from above!! 🙂

In South Africa they sold the Capri with the 302ci 5.0l Mustang V8.
Broom! 😀
Buick Grand National GNX. Kinda the American equivalent of a Sierra Cosworth, ugly and crude, but seriously quick in a straight line.

Had one of these, quite heavily tuned. Great car once you'd of rid of the BL crapness:
Anyone who doesn't like these doesn't like cars, even a slow one is a hoot to thrash:
Just gorgeous:
Not many of these left:
My dad had one of these:

I can get the link to work; get anyone with a black-belt in Google Fu sort it?
My favourite 80's car by some way.

Brilliant call on the 2000GT!
Where to start, where to finish?!
Am I allowed a Singer? Ah, go on, they're based on pre 90's cars...
I can't handle much more excitement right now, I'll be back later.
Can someone please put a picture up of a Mercedes C111.
Ta...
Ha cheers Eddie. 😳
Cars from the movie's were just as awesome and made up a huge chunk of bedroom wall posters
Delorian
KITT
Grand Turismo (Starsky and Hutch)
The original'60s Batmobile
Lotus Esprit
The A Team Van
Dodge Charger ( Dukes of Hazard)
Lancia Fulvia HF 😯
That Lancia is gorgeous.

I will fight you.
Taste is a funny thing. There's some awesome cars on this thread. And there's some right old pieces of crap. (-:
Oh, and this is pretty awesome...
It really is. Largest self-powered vehicle in the world, that. Weighs six million pounds and does a kilometre on just 300 litres of diesel. 😯 Oh yeah, and one of them is being upgraded because it's not big enough.
“Awesome” can mean many things, to many people.
So too taste eh..
kiwijohn - MemberFor a Mondial? You're dreaming.
Ah, the mistake is all yours. That's a 308 GT4 Dino. First mid engined v8 Ferrari, only Ferrari designed by Marcello Gandini and (in my humble opinion) a very beautiful and under rated car, especially in Rosso Rubino with gold wheels.
The Verde Germoglio is seriously cool too.
@core, thanks so much for posting the Lancia Fulvia. As a young lad at senior school i remember lusting after the usual Countach and 959 excesses until my new physics master turned up in a Fulvia. I just loved it!
Those Dinos are nice enough, very '70s and angular but they are well proportioned.
I wouldn't mind tootling around the riviera in one anyway.
Merak: have you seen these?
