hope the person whining about Wills being a useless rich kid who's never done a days work has an accident in the hills and calls out a rescue chopper then turns it down 'cos Wills piloting

How do you think he got the training and the job? You reckon he applied? No, he got given it the same as his house, his cars, his horses, etc. and at the expense of someone not lucky enough to be born into royalty. As for the 'they've done no harm to me' argument you could apply that to Fred West , next time you pay 20% vat on something, or have to wait 18 months to get a routine operation done, or call an ambulance and have to wait an hour all due to budget cuts then think about who is actually paying for the wedding and the life of privilege and luxury. Its a question or priorities and I want a better country for my kids more than I want to pay for these lot.

Looks like I will be on an open canoe exped in the north west of scotland, camping and avoiding all probable royal coverage and keeping an eye on a DofE group 🙂

ridingscared + 1. The royals are sponging parasites, he's got some token job handed to him.

You may have a long wait he'll probably be out on a Jolly (Being paid for by us of course)

The Ministry of Defence and Clarence House faced a public relations disaster after it became known that William had used a £9,000 training flight on April 11 to pick up his brother, Prince Harry, in London and fly to the Isle of Wight to attend the party for his cousin Peter Philips.

It emerged in the following days that he had also practised landings in a field owned by the parents of his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, used a helicopter flight to get to a wedding in Northumberland, and flown over Highgrove during his attachment to RAF Odiham, Hants,

Clarence House was dismayed by the disclosures and the Prince of Wales was kept informed

I'm getting married that weekend much to relief of my mates, as I don't live in the UK and they're all coming out this way.

Seriously? This is the sort of thing you choose to get worked up about? We pay 69p each per year for the royal family - but the fact that we can't afford everything we want to lay our grubby hands on is all their fault?

I'm probably going to spend the day sorting out my garden, might go for a cheeky ride, or head to the pub with a few friends. If I'm around the house I may flick the telly on to see a little bit of history happen*. If I do watch any of it, I'll probably be reminded of my own wedding day, remember how much I enjoyed that, and think that the two of them are likely to be enjoying their wedding day too.

*after all, history is all about kings and queens and stuff...

Probably be working, but will try to sneak a ride in just to stick it to the pair of sponging parasitic scumbags.

🙂

our work has said we can have a day off, but not necessarily that day. I suspect there will be a demand for operational cover so I'll go in and take say, Monday off.

I suppose you could say that about all tax payers money, like the MP expenses scandal, Quangos wasting tax payers money, the actual cost per person was only minuscule, why worry about it? I'd think the £40m could be better spent elsewhere.

Can't say I have sleepless nights and get overly worked up over it, I do have a view about it though. 😉
