How can i connect my Sky box to my AV Reciever.

Sky box outputs via a SCART (RGB, won't do Composite) and stereo RCA sockets.

AV receiver has HDMI, composite and component inputs (but no RGB).

Can I go SCART->VGA+RCA->HDMI

No one makes a SCART->HDMI cable, but plenty of people make SCART/VGA and VGA/HDMI addapters which makes me think it wont work 🙁

No optical digital connectors? That'd be your best bet (or get a Sky HD box).

SCART > HDMI isn't going to happen (or at least, isn't going to be cheap) because SCART is analogue and HDMI is digital, it'll need an ADC rather than a simple media converter.

Have you got optical input on your av reciever, most sky boxes have optical out.

Yes (but I thought that was only for audio?), but the sky box doesn't, it pre-dates the white one (which doesn't have one either).

optical for audio - Our sky box aint HD and has an optical output - you don't need the picture to go through your amp, just to the TV
