Looking for a set of roof bars for the A1 but looking at the car it appears they are going to be the hook under the window seal type and i have never been sure how secure they are with a couple of bikes on. I already have my roof carriers so bars would likley be the cheapest way to do it but f the bars are poor in the way they fit the roof then i may go the towbar route.

Not the A1, but my old Ibiza 3dr had roof bars with it when I bought it that were Seat OEM ones & hooked in between the roof and the door frame at the front & between a small ridge on the roof & a particular position on the back window marked with 2 little arrows on the window itself.
They were fine & when in place you could not move them in the slightest.

Sounds like the exact same setup as the rear seal has the two arrows.
