We will be in touch
Watched last night after recording it on a whim last week. Much better than expected, thought it was cracking.
"I'm calling the Police"
"You'd be better of calling Ghostbusters love"
🙂
agreed... Very funny.
Cracking film! Much better than I expected too!
+1
top film, I aint even lying
yup, very good!
Thats good to know, I recorded but haven't watched it yet.
On the down side I recorded Copland last week, as I'd never seen it but heard it had good reviews from way back... who thought that was any good?
A very poor Goodfella's for cops with half the same cast and Stallone.. pish!
Dittn't liyke it. Cuttn't unnastand the lingo, ya get me. Blood.
😕
Joe Cornish = good geez
"I live with my Uncle. He comes and goes. Goes, mostly..."
We had it out on DVD, I thought it was very well done, great entertainment. 🙂
who thought that was any good?
I thought Copland was excellent.
Copland great.
Attack the Block - only saw a bit of it but was not impressed, I'm a big Adam and Joe fan too.
Excellent film, low budget brilliance. One of my favourites. Trust.
It was Ok, I'll not watch it again.
really? Or are you both just being ****'s for the sake of it?
I understand it's a dated film (I have no issue with this), but the story line was almost non-existant & incomprehensible for the most part? Why pretend the golden boys jumped, & then kill him off.. no real if any explanation of this rather major part of the film. The cast looked like they moved off Goodfella's and then tried to recreate as 'cops' it but with Stallone being rubbish as always...
Pish utter pish, but you can like it if you want, I'll allow it.
I thought it was alright, but wasn't overly keen.
I wonder if a big part of it is whether you can identify with the yoofs or not. As a northerner, I simply couldn't relate to a bunch of 'street' scallies talking like Elfinsafety tried to.
I thought it was some very original film making, they obviously didn't have a big budget so did pretty well, balanced the comedy with horror/sci fi, not always easy. The housing estate set did threaten to upstage the performers a few times tho !
I liked the bit where the middle class white kid buying drugs seemed almost as alien to the young persons.
Good monsters too, again original where there are so many conventions in the form.
Could have done with more spaceships I reckon but that's prolly just me.
really? Or are you both just being ****'s for the sake of it?
Nope, I liked it. I can't really remember anything about it as it's ages since I swa it, but I do remember thinking it was excellent
Stallone being rubbish as always
Stallone was actually acting for once, instead of just blowing things up, which may have caused the confusion. He's done it twice now, once in Rocky and once in this. Shame really, as in both he showed that he really can.
you can like it if you want, I'll allow it
Thanks, that's good of you 🙂
I wonder if a big part of it is whether you can identify with the yoofs or not
That's probably it. Growing up on the mean streets of Cheshire, I was like, totally down with it homie.
You can never have too many spaceships Hels. They're like helicopters. You can't have too many of those either. Both are better when exploding in slow motion, obviously
Really enjoyed Attack the Block.
Another silly-but-quality film I've seen recently is Tucker and Dale Vs Evil. Definitely worth a watch 🙂
Yeah, I thought Tucker & Dale was ace. Alan Tudyk is always good.
Just remember they were a load of druggie little scrotes, nick your bikes as soon as look at you. Pity they all didn't get ripped to bits, would have been far more entertaining.
Original story and original monster, must be a different Attack the Block to what I've the one I seen was a poor remake of Critters.
Thanks, argoose, for that sussinct piece of social commentary; write for the Daily Mail, do you? 🙄
My my ladies, you are all getting rather upset.
I bought it on a whim, cheap on DVD. I thought it was crap and the next day I put it in the charity bag.
I thought it was pretty average really, the hype it was going to be amazing, sadly it wasn't. I didn't hate it but wouldn't bother with it again.
However, Tucker and Dale is great!
Any low budget "urban" British film that doesn't have Danny Dyer in it is ok in my book !
A great film. Directed by the cornballs too.
Watched it when it came out in cinema, loved it. Mates I was with weren't overly impressed though.
Might help that I grew up in London and spent quite a lot of my time on the estates though..
write for the Daily Mail, do you?
No, just not fussed on people who think mugging and drugs are an acceptable way of life
Erm...it is both fiction and comedy 🙄
I haven't lost sight of that cynic-al, just would have been funnier if a few more died 😛
