OP - I think you are generally in the right here but that thing about the tax deductible element as mentioned above. Are you planning on re-selling the wheels?

as the seller is dying of cat aids, you should probably get them disinfected too

I did try to resolve it privately, you weren't answering my emails.

'Too busy' is not an excuse.

I was (and still am) in bed with the bloody flu! 😯

You clearly don't take the time to process information being given to you very carefully.

I will reiterate, that should you ever need to get a response off CRC, Merlin, Wiggle et al, in my experience they can often take 3-4 working days to respond to customer emails. Rather than being a reasonable human being and waiting to hear my response, you used bully tactics on an open forum to make yourself feel big.

You've spent time lecturing me about how to run my business, and what I should and shouldn't do. I did google your name along with "business consultant" but no results were found. They say you get what you pay for though, so still... Cheers for the free advice! 😉

The accused stated the OP is female so I'd like to know who the mystery Tiernan is.

mboy, we can all see that you were on the forum last night, so the "I was too ill" bit doesn't really fly.

your inbox must be mad busy if those are your peers!

mboy you really should step away from this thread as slagging off the OP isn't doing you any favours. If you were 'that ill' that you were unable to answer an email then how the hell to you manage a bike ride? Of course you 'couldn't get out of it', mmm really.

They've just arrived and are exactly what I needed, thanks.

I've closed the PP dispute-

<edited for stupidity>

Sorry it went this far.

😐

To add insult to injury, that is the lamest apology I have ever heard!

You are sorry for "taking things this far"...

How about "sorry for doubting your sincerity"?

Maybe "sorry for not resolving this amicably and privately"?

How about "sorry for calling you a liar and attempting to bring your business into disrepute publicly on this forum and all over facebook"?

Or possibly "sorry that I didn't clearly state that I wasn't happy with the delay in delivery in the first place so we could sort this out then and there"?

as the seller is dying of cat aids, you should probably get them disinfected too

Highly advisable...

You sound like my parents who would say "If you're well enough to go on your computer you're well enough to go to school!" back when I was a wee nip.

Er, browsing the internet doesn't take much effort. Unless you're my mum, in which case it's kind of like operating mission control for NASA.

Are you my mum?

mboy perhaps you should take a leaf out the op's book and apologise for your appalling customer service. Just a thought.

If you DWYSYWD then you wouldn't be in this position, on several occasions.

Browsing the internet doesn't require a similar level of effort to replying to emails?

Do you want to borrow one of these, your spade obviously isn't big enough...

Just to conciseafy things, how long was it from payment to receiving? Then we can rule on this once and for all.*

mboy perhaps you should take a leaf out the op's book and apologise

I did

I apologised via email in the first place... The OP's response was "thanks for getting in touch, my number is........."...

I apologised again on the first post the OP made on this forum (which was subsequently deleted).

I apologised again in my own thread (which was subsequently deleted by the mods, and I have the email to explain that they felt things were satisfactorily dealt with).

Not only have I apologised, but I have stated several times now that if the OP had let me know they were unhappy, I would have refunded their money then and there.

Not once (until they went apoplectic on here) did they let me know they were unhappy!

This is why I am at a TOTAL loss over the whole situation...

You simply took too long to send the wheels, had a load of excuses, have history, etc, etc.

Why on earth should the OP apologise? What a bizarre request.
" Here are your wheels! You get them late with poor communication but you got them so say sorry."

mboy - your indignation here is entirely misplaced. You haven't had 'flu' or there's no way you'd even consider going out on a bike ride (or even be posting on STW). The OP has done nothing wrong at all and has no need to apologise - it's you that should be apologising (and not the kind of apologising where you tell the other person it's actually all their fault, like you're doing here).

I always thought you came across as a bit of a know-it-all tool and this thread has confirmed it for me.

In my opinion it looks like the OP didn't really have much choice but to publicly air their issues with the service they've recieved as it seems to have been the only way that she's been able to resolve the issue. Look at the number of threads that have been on here about crap service from the likes of Planet X etc. so saying she's out of order for bringing it up is laughable as it would mean everyone of us who have moaned about crap service from companies shouldn't be allowed too.

To continue to slate her after it appears resolved is both petty and childish and not doing you any favours in attracting future buyers for your privately sold stuff on the classifieds.

I think mboy is just one of those people who go through life completely incapable of believing they can do anything wrong and everything that does go wrong is someone else's fault, we all know one!

How about "sorry for doubting your sincerity"?

You mean like where you suggested the OP is setting you up for a scam (despite you being the one who took money, didn't send the item for ages, and didn't respond to emails)? Don't think I've seen you apologise for that.

The OP has been entirely rational/reasonable in their posts, unlike you.

This is our Peanut Gallery.

[img] [/img]

I once got a thread posted on the classifieds asking whether I was a scammer as the item hadn't arrived one entire day after payment. That was unreasonable.

I'm not getting involved otherwise, I have previous for being slow...

(actually, having read more, I will get involved- mboy is being a bit of a jebend. Stoppit.)

You, know I'm increasingly coming to the opinion that it's none of "people's" business.
where you wearing your mod hat when you posted that?

Mboy [s]blaming the OP and slinging muck at what they may possibly do in the future...[/s]nevermind, but maybe time to stop digging eh?

The thing I'm taking away from this thread is the phrase 'The Peanut Gallery' and the fact that I'm apparently in it.

It's made my day (really - it's a great phrase and sums up a lot of what happens on stw)

this reminds me of the time I bought some wheels on the classifieds, they took a total of 5 weeks to arrive.
this was after I got the guy's phone number (from a bit of digging on here) and spoke to his mum, then him, with my best Salford "I've got a shootoh" accent.
He sent them via Royal Main in a binbag, the dozy ****.

OK, I've calmed down somewhat now.

I don't take particularly kindly to being called a liar. As you can see the situation resolved itself before it even had a chance to arise. On Friday, I re-organised the pickup of the wheels following our email conversation (in which I will reiterate I apologised and it wasn't met with any protest).

Prematurely, I believed the matter to be (at least partially) resolved.

What happened next completely blew me away it is fair to say!

You mean like where you suggested the OP is setting you up for a scam (despite you being the one who took money, didn't send the item for ages, and didn't respond to emails)? Don't think I've seen you apologise for that.

I have friends who run ebay business, and are subjected to scam attempts like this far too often. It was wrong of me to rashly accuse the OP in this way.

This was written in the OP's email to me yesterday...

As I've said, if/when the wheels turn up I'll cancel the paypal dispute and post up an apology if you like.

OK so the paypal dispute has been cancelled... I've calmed down and made my apologies...

Can I clarify that I was apologising to the forum in general for the fuss and palaver, not you mboy? Ta.

Belting wheels though 😀
