Maybe, but loads of sellers on here state that in their 'for sale' ads so you can't single mboy out for that. This should be a lesson to you all to stop being so tight and pay the extra 4% on top to cover the seller's fees (or take the hit yourself to show goodwill!) for PP cover.

I should make it clear, I think you will get your wheels, mboy just seems to be one of those people who sells stuff then forgets what is supposed to happen next. Which is, understandably, frustrating to the buyer.

Can't see any problem, ok so mBoy's been very lax and a bit silly to not contact/make contact but the Guys been on here for like ages and contributes to the forum like, so I'd give the bloke the benefit of the doubt and suck it up a bit.

Anyways, didn't this get brought up the other day and all explained in that thread??

martinhutch- mboy runs (owns?) a bike shop I think. I'm self-employed myself, there's no reason at all why I or anybody else who has paid for something shouldn't be shown the same courtesy with turnaround times as someone who has walked in through the door.

some couriers ask for it. I always put mine or leave it blank.
Must admit, I quite like getting a text from couriers with a specified 1hr delivery window

As Jamie's links say - mboy's form on this means that it's not about giving the 'benefit of the doubt' as far as inaction post sale is concerned - it seems to be his standard way of operating. Nothing happens until he gets outed then it's all wounded pride etc. It's a shame as I doubt it's malice, just an inability to actual organise posting stuff.

So, chronically disorganised then, but all those buyers ended up with their gear and happy. Still doesn't seem like a case for mass pitchforks, maybe a bit of dessert forks?

I must be chronically laid back.

The flu-riding thing is amusing though...

Because it's like leaving cash on a park bench. Asking for it along with 2 other ways to pay with no buyer protection is taking the piss.

I hope that's the case. I can't understand how anyone can be that disorganised though ๐Ÿ˜†

As I said in my emails to him, if it turns out to be some huge misunderstanding I'll gladly post up an apology on here.

Why should you apologise to someone who takes your cash then take ages to post and gives you the run around,a slap seems more deserving.

I've had a reply through paypal, via the 'resolution centre', so it looks as if he's not going to reply to my email directly. Apparently the wheels were collected yesterday 'as confirmed by a colleague', whoever that is, but I still have no courier name or a tracking number.

Are people arsed enough for me to update this as it resolves?

I think mboy should be commended for still getting out on his bike while bedridden. Most of us would sack a ride off with just a mild cough. And yet this hero, is getting out there when other mere mortals would be cowering under their duvets, praying with the relevant gods to deliver them from this flu-maggedon.

I think you;ve got thw wrong end of the stick there Jamie.

The last 3 days have been spent almost entirely in bed with the flu though

I think his girlfriend is called Fulviah, so that's who he is referring too. "We don't get out of bed for less than a 15k road ride, or a cup of coffee and croissants."

I don't know where to start on this one cos clearly the apology for late delivery I posted on here yesterday didn't get read by the buyer!

Anyway... First things first... I messed up with a delivery, courier wouldn't send it without a phone number, so had to contact the OP for their phone number and then rearrange a delivery. I was busy at work (not an excuse I know, just how it was), so I apologise it was a little late in the first place. Emailed the buyer, they responded with their phone number and "thanks for getting back to me"...

That was on Friday. Delivery companies don't tend to work on Saturday or Sunday, so arranged the delivery company to pick up as quickly as possible after that (which ended up being Tuesday not Monday as they'd promised, but anyway!)...

I've been ill in bed... That's not up for debate, that's fact. I don't get the constant requirement for the OP to stalk my every movement and to make up storied about me. I rode (briefly) on Saturday morning as I had organised a road ride that I couldn't really get out of (I had started to feel less than 100% the night before). From Saturday early evening onwards, I have been in bed pretty much the entire time (sleeping most of it) with some pretty severe flu like symptoms (chronic aches, sweats, shivering, you know, the usual stuff that Lemsip definitely doesn't fix!).

The wheels were definitely picked up. By City Link. I don't have the tracking number, I was at home in bed (the wheels were picked up from my work address whilst my colleague was there), you'll have to take my word for this but invariably if you don't believe I'm ill, you'll still carry on running about with your pitchfork ablaze until they arrive!

Anyways, didn't this get brought up the other day and all explained in that thread??

The one that was then removed as the mods assured that the OP had seen it, and were satisfied the issue was "dealt with"...? Clearly not!

Can't see any problem, ok so mBoy's been very lax and a bit silly to not contact/make contact but the Guys been on here for like ages and contributes to the forum like, so I'd give the bloke the benefit of the doubt and suck it up a bit.

I have/had made contact. Maybe not as frequently as the buyer has wanted, but I have not gone to ground here.

Oh, and PayPal Gift; I don't know why people get so worked up, no one is forced to use it.

Yup, and the buyer didn't pay via a gift... She's completely covered if I was rogue (which I am not). This has all the hallmarks of someone doing the ground work to state that not only were the wheels late, that when they arrive they are totally unsuitable, angling for them for free by raising enough issues publicly and through the payment forum so as to create enough doubt about me (the seller) that I essentially get tarred and feathered!

Quite frankly, if the buyer was not happy at the point I contacted them on Friday, she should have stated in her email response. I would have offered some form of compensation or the money back. I read "thanks for getting in touch, my number is......" as a green light. ๐Ÿ˜•

I did raise an eyebrow when I read that as a reason for a delay. It's up there with my dog ate it.

my hermes ask for a phone number for the delivery address but you can enter any old shite or indeed your own number to get around that - they never use it.

In my experience, some do, some don't. Some insist on it and then text the recipient when they're planning to deliver. Either way, I thought it best to get the buyers number rather than bull***t round it in case of any further issues (oh the irony!).

In answer to the OP, I'd probably wait a little longer before launching a full nuclear assault, given that this is the busiest week of the year for parcel deliveries.

It doesn't strike me as being quite in the same league as some stuff that has been put up here for pitchforking. Perhaps I'm just a bit too trusting, eh?

If he sent it via myhermes in the Nwest they had a distribution center fire. Maybe he didn't select insured and is doubting you? Weird though as mboy doesn't seem to be bad and if paid via goods its hardly scammy. Hope he's OK not had a fall.

I'm glad not everyone sees everything so black and white, or aggressively as the OP!

The flu-riding thing is amusing though...

In presence of some titbits of information, we have had all sorts of accusations made against me already (that if she doesn't apologise publicly for, will get taken further). I see this not only as highly unrprofessional, but also of dubious moral values.

This was a private sale, on a public forum. STW doesn't permit trade sales, I was selling my own wheels as a private individual to another private individual. The only reason my workplace should have had anything to do with this is that I'd taken them to work as it was the most convenient place for them to be picked up. For the buyer to persistently use Facebook and this forum to accuse me of being a liar, and attempting to bring my business into disrepute, is beyond me! I haven't lied about anything.

If the buyer thinks a full scale public nuclear attack is the best way to solve a minor grievance over delivery of an item, how would she feel if the boot was on the other foot?

Given that, on Monday when the buyer first decided to raise the threat level to Defcon 1, I was unaware of the email she had sent earlier that day asking for an update until after she'd made several attempts on STW to slander my name.

ANY normal, reasonable person would try to solve a matter entirely privately no? Given that people have lives and all sorts of other things that get in the way of communication sometimes, I don't think that it's unreasonable that I believe the full scale nuclear attack on this forum, within only a few hours of having sent me an email, is totally unreasonable.

I would also like to say this... The fact that the buyer has wasted hours of her life, posting on this forum, facebook (and god only knows elsewhere) has meant only one thing... I have had to spend equally lengthy amounts of time, giving my account of events. Time that has not been productive in resolving this matter in the slightest!

My thoughts the moment I learnt of the attack on here on Monday incidentally...
[img] [/img]

I await, with baited breath, to hear the next installation of the story from the buyer. The courier company has her address, email address, phone number, the wheels were sent with added value insurance etc. Will they magically disappear do you think? Or perhaps they'll implode the first time they get ridden!
