August is too quiet on the bird singing front and so hearing the first robin song of early autumn yesterday makes me smile. That's it really. Simple pleasures and all that.

I saw this behind the Nationwide in Swindon, it had just hopped off a filing cabinet but I snapped it just before it flew off to attack a Zombie who voted 'leave' (or it may have voted 'remain') I'm not sure.

We've had one in the garden all summer (actually all year round, as it lives in the hedge)

We have a couple of them in our garden.
They're either fighting, shagging or sitting on any bikes that are left near the hedge.

We used to have 2 pairs nesting in the garden - f*ing neighbours' cats means we haven't had any for a while. Used to take mealworms from your hand and bounce up and down on the kitchen windowsill! Couldn't leave the kitchen door open, otherwise they'd come inside and cr@p everywhere!

First one of the autumn? They're in full song all year.
