I dont go for cars much, but this caught my eye in Avonmouth (Bristol) the other day.

My pic sharpened with Ai.

There is a version in Avonmouth Camo. I'll post later.

If I had another child I'd call him Martin Valhalla. He'd probably look a bit like the guy driving it in that photo.

Interesting how the AI has removed the front reg plate. It must be a "thing" as suggested by DrP

Fenwick’s in Newcastle had the Spider in last week but I missed it. They did have this in this week though. IMG_7527.jpeg

I saw a (the?) Aston Martin Valkyrie last summer.

For a billion pound car I was surprised to see the driver and driver wearing what looked like helicopter headphones/ mic.

It must be unreasonably loud inside for that

Yep I think there's footage of Adrian Newey driving a Valkyrie down the A43 with a set of ear defenders on, it's very much not designed to minimise NVH as that would ruin the 'Purity'.

Yeah Valkyrie is a stripped out ‘track day’ sort of hypercar.

Noise and performance are it’s USP 😁

they ran one up the hill at FOS. 900ish bhp with a build price of 2.1mill. Aston guy reckoned they were pretty much all sold out and there wasnt a shortage of customers

Slight sidetrack, but we stopped in a layby under cadir idris last week and a car pulled up behind me. I didnt recognise it so had a google. Turns out it was a Gordon Murray T50.  Incredible sounding car and worth a cool £2.5 million.

I turned up at a site on Tuesday to be greeted by two Koenigseggs... A nice way to start the day!

£2.5 mil was RRP from the factory. They made 100 and sold out long before release. If you want one now, a delivery mileage example is the exciting side of £6 million.

Same with the Valkyrie/any limited edition hyper car really.

Think the Valkyrie dropped as A-M charged something like £350k for a compulsory basic service plan once you bought one. Same as the original Veyron - apparently they would be at least double their value if not for service prices. (Source: me standing in WHSmiths reading their mags.) That T50 - the highest mileage done per year in one wins a prize. Same source had a T50 that looked like the Mclaren P1 for a cool £20m. Had to download this here in one go, as this has exhausted my knowledge on the subject.

The 20mil GMA is a reimagining of the McLaren F1 by its creator (originals of which are now well north of £20mil, from a £600k RRP in early 90s). Paganis, koenigseggs, limited run Ferraris (F80, SP1,2,3, LaFerrari, Enzo etc), then all the limited restomod recreations are all 7-8 figures now, the inflation makes the silly expensive MTB market look like it isn’t even trying…

re the Bugatti and silly servicing costs, ex BMXer Mat Armstrong (among others) is doing gods work in showing up the manufacturers who charge daft money to fix their cars.

There's an amusing episode of Top Gear where James May has an Aston Martin Vantage in "race" guise (no radio, no air con, no carpets, very "factory" switches for all the kit) and they're driving through the south of France. It did not look like a comfortable car...

I did a LEJOG a few years ago and up in Scotland we kept passing and being passed by a couple of classic Astons, Eventually we saw them in a layby and pulled over to have a chat. One of the drivers owned them both; it was him and his wife in one car, another couple in the other, just on a tour. They were so friendly and the cars were amazing. One was a DB6, a sort of slightly extended version of the DB5. Can't remember what the other one was but proper classic Aston.

None of which are as cool as the original V8 Vantage in The Living Daylights - that car appeared again briefly in No Time To Die.

They aren’t. Nor are they meant to be.

Cars are exempt from capital gains tax, so they're a handy tax dodge for the extremely wealthy. All that money sloshing upwards has got to go somewhere.

Regardless, the Valhalla looks amazing.
