Hi,

I remember threads on here about the above, but can't find it on the search. Can someone remind me where they're best purchased from?

thank you.

ebay, for 20 quid or under.

two main types, 1 = elasticated waist and ankles 2 = drawstring waist with velcro fly.

I have 1 (and bought a pair of 2 for my dad for walking). Having seen both typres I will buy 2 when mine currently wear out, as the elastic waist slips down your arse as you ride. I think it's the saddle pulling them down as you move around on it. The drawstring waist will be far more secure.

I have drawstring elasticated waist with no fly. Best of both worlds? Mine are the 'goretex' ones. Completely invincible - 3 years and they're still 100% and i just hose them off after the ride. Best bit of bike kit I own next to a camelbak.

These:

are the one I and a friend use.

We cut off the legs to make them not-quite-three-quarters. Elasticated waist band, no fly.

Frankly, the fabric is indistinguishable from my eVent jacket and functions just as well, with no clamminess at all.

The only annoyance is since they're only elasticated by a draw-cord, it slips over time and can 'clutch' at ones thighs when riding, which is annoying. Still mustn't grumble for 10 quid.
