This is a bike forum, not a running forum. Take your bike next time and you might get some sympathy!

Agreed. Get the right sized shoes and you can do as many as you want.
Maybe an annual event?

You can get that from leaving your nails too long too. I did that, did a big ride and the pressure on my toenails actually caused the nail to come off. The quick was still there so it's growing back, slowly mind. My big toe looks a bit like that.

i see that a lot in my job, as matey said up there, its the shoe choice not the activity, agreed fell running will shove your toes up the end of the shoe causing trauma especially on the downhill bits.

nice bit of self surgery on the big toe there, i would've left it as blisters or small bleeds under the nail dont often cause problems, however i foresee some problems down the sides of your nail when it tries to grow out...enjoy...

Genuine question: What are toenails for, other than being pulled out by inquisitors?

it was hanging off and gettting caught in socks .... i left it as long as possible - even taped it down with micropore tape but eventually it had to come off .... we going fungal under it - despite me wearing sandals at all possible times to avoid sweat !

How do you do that? Mine need to come off as they're ingrowing. Maybe I'll borrow the GF's shoes to go running down some hills.
