I was a bit behind, having watched all 4 episodes in the late week, but I'm really enjoying it, proper disturbing in places.
And Black Mirror is back next week, first one looks a right creep fest
Watching yesterday's right now
Oh yes, looking forward to Black Mirror
Just watched it - not quite the shocker last week's was. But it is brilliant.
Looking forward to Black Mirror too.
Decent British TV programmes, about bloody time.
Quite tame this week, but everything's relative. Best thing on telly for ages!
Yep, enjoying it.
Being Human came back on last Sunday which is another one we like
Same here Dogbert, came to it late so I have done catch up over the last few days.
Very good ,if a bit disturbing in some scenes ( but then I am a sensitive type),mainly with Raisin Boy ๐ฏ
Surprised about the amount of graphic head shots for main stream telly.
Quite tame this week
Apart from the scene where a 12yr old girl discharged a shotgun into someones stomach then calmly said "he killed my mother" ๐
But yeah.....it did seem tame this week compared to the old eye gouging scene a few weeks previous.
So it appears the Chocolate raisin eating psycho is related to Jessica Hyde? - brother and sister or test-tube twins?.
Fantastic series and i love the way it's been shot with vibrant colours and genuine thought put into every scene.
the audio's worth a mention, some fantastic work with both the music & atmospherics.
The way it's been shot is superb! There's a lot of time and effort gone into that.
Best TV i've seen since Black Mirror 12 months ago
And Black Mirror is back on Monday!!
I'm enjoying it, but I can't decide whether or not it's a bit style over substance.
seems like its trying too hard to be stylish and mysterious to me, its average at best.
I haven't seen any of them, but I've found with most things on telly I'm saving them up on the PVR to watch all in one sitting.
Average at best? Compared to what? The mountain of quality, well written drama that we've been deluged with of late?
seems like its trying too hard to be stylish and mysterious to me
Yeah, I think that's kind of where I'm coming to.
I always get a bit turned-off by 'shadowy global mega-corp is controlling the world' type storylines. They just feel like a bot of a cop-out.
Thing is Bin-Bins, if you take away the beautiful cinematography (and don't get me wrong, it looks incredible), is it actually that well-written or is it relying on the shock factor to make it different?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad, I'm enjoying it a lot , but I'm just not sure it's particularly amazing.
I think it's ace, the bold colours and settings are fantastic and will have lots of significance if you started to analyse the scenes.
My wife finds it too disturbing (especially after the school scene) and won't watch it anymore
I know what you're saying.
I think there's an element of Daily Mail baiting going on with the shock factor. But Its pretty imaginative in lots of ways. And pretty brave for Channel 4 to film the way it has. And I like the attention to detail. I think the fact that it stands out is probably more a reflection of the lazy, lowest common denominator, formulaic crap that passes for most TV drama.
is it actually that well-written
Well, the dialogue doesn't make me cringe like 99% of British dramas, so yes, it is well written.
For the ultimate in try hard, style over substance, see: Drive (yeah I know it's a movie) ๐
the fact that it stands out is probably more a reflection of the lazy, lowest common denominator, formulaic crap that passes for most TV drama.
Yeah, I think that's the point.
TBF, I'm watching it after coming off watching five series of Mad Men pretty much back to back, so my 'well-written, beautifully shot and thoughtfully acted top quality drama' bar is currently sitting quite high...
Saying that though, I'm also very much enjoying the pure joyful absurdity that is the new series of Dallas ๐
And Black Mirror is back next week, first one looks a right creep fest
Yes I'm really enjoying Utopia too... but didn't see Black Mirror last series......Will I need to have seen it to watch the new series do you think?
the audio's worth a mention, some fantastic work with both the music & atmospherics

No - they're a series of unrelated dramas.
But you should see the first series anyway, cos it was great.
Hmm I didn't really get Utopia at first but wanted to like it so have been dipping in and out. I might have to watch the whole thing on 4OD if its on there.
