It appears that the Ordnance Survey are going to move grid North by 24.8 degrees, as described by Dr. Polly Axis, Senior Orientation Specialist at OS.

What other gems have seen?

P.S. the STW one is also made me chuckle.

A bike one, apparently the Scottish Cross Country Association are having a lot of difficulty in securing suitable venues for this year's championships so they have reluctantly decided that they will have to move the series to Wales. They go on to explain at length how great Wales is and how everyone loves to travel to new places

Given the current situation, I'm not sure that April Fools has any relevance. Is anything really unbelievable any more?

I was going to post something along the same lines as I hadn't spotted any obvious stories on the various news sites..... right up to the moment when I realised it was still the 31st of March and I was was a day ahead of myself. Would have made for a slightly puzzling thread for everyone else 🙂

However, today, either there aren't any April fools stories on the various news sites I read, or there are and I've just taken them at face value.

My favourites have been the ones on Instagram where the poor social media manager has got their schedules wrong and posted them early. 😆

I read one where Trump has offered Liz Truss a choice of roles in his administration, and she's opted to take a position up at NASA.

I'm still not sure if it's a spoof or not, given how mad both are.

My favourite bit was the tweaking of the bottle weights. Brilliant

The Phoenix comic did a whole april fools issue this week and they have just absolutely nailed it:

MockupIssue743.jpeg

The demented honk that my eldest did when he opened the envelope to this was just the best.

I 've seen a lot of that. I'd drawn the conclusion that they must see some sort of engagement graph with a curve on it, and that it must take a number of hours / days for a post to gather momentum in the algorithm and get put in front of the majority of your followers.  The less 'engaging' you are the longer it probably takes?  Taylor Swift could probably post it at 11.59 and it still count as an April fools, a small bike brand probably has to give it a days head start so it hit's the peak at breakfast time on 1st April?

Our local bakery chain is offering high protein cream cakes.

I think that means something entirely different to the youngsters 🤣

Quite a few mountain rescue ones - Lake District have got a search and rescue cat, and down in Devon they have an otter for water rescues

Last night, I dreamt that petrol had drastically gone down in price and everyone was happy.

But it was just an April fuel.

Someone totally came up with "Rail Loop F" there and then cobbled something together which fitted.
