Anyone have/used one of these ? Are they utter shite or worth a punt. Missus likes idea of a smart type watch to count steps/mileage etc.

Rather than spend £££££ on a top brand to potentially lie in a drawer this may be just the thing

tell her to switch on google fit on her phone, it'll be better than that.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is probably the best rated budget one, they're about £30. I think Huawei do one for a similar price.

If you want more smart capability then I'd have a look at the Amazfit Bip - I have one of those, and it's pretty actually good for the price. Mine was under £40, think they're just north of £50 now. But that does steps, heartrate (not sure how much I'd trust it) as well as text messages, phone alerts etc. The battery also lasts for a genuine 30 days (I've had over 40 from mine with the HRM turned off, round about 30 with it on, using the GPS kills it a lot quicker) which is more or less unheard of.

That said, just using her phone isn't a bad alternative. Plus if she uses Sweatcoin she can get free stuff.

These seem very well recevied:

I think it was even reviewed by this erstwhile publication.

I bought my lad one, from Amazon, more because it looks like the £300 Apple Watch he wanted. (He’s 13..., & lost two watched already).
I’m not sure what an Apple Watch gets you over it, but it connects to the phone to take calls, (takes a SIM card to make its own), displays emails, text messages, tracks movement etc. Probably more but that’s as much as I can see it does.

suggested my son got one;

"I'm reluctant to buy anything Chinese that's so cheap and has access to so much data about me"

which seems a fair point.
