Can this be done? I have films on my USB stick and just wondering if I can watch them on my phone with the USB stick connected rather than importing them to the phone and taking up the phone's memory?

some custom ROMs allow it - I guess the phone hardware has to be capable
(I believe posh term is USB hosting)
Some phones will allow use of an OTG (on the go) cable with an app to do what you want - google your phone and "OTG"
(I've just got exactly this setup working on my Nexus 7 using Nexus Media Importer app)
Just spoken with HTC and they didn't know? I have the new JB installed but would I need an App? If so, which one?
Why bother with the faff of connecting a memory stick? Just stick a 32gb sd card in the phone..
App2sd and x-plore are handy apps for managing large memory cards /lots of apps/data.
