A while back I spent a great deal of time downloading a large volume of elevation data and converting several thousand files from one format to another only to discover I had been wasting my time as Viking GPS had DEM layers built in.
But that was a while ago and now I can't get it to work.
Search results haven't been helpful.
Not sure if it's a bug or my incompetence, not find any howto.

Doh! Doesn't appear to automatically download the data unlike with the maps. Have to manually point at area to DL via Toolbar->DEM Download button.
