[Closed] Anyone regretted not getting the 3G version of the Kindle?

I have one of the non 3G keyboard equipped Kindles - I've never really used the keyboard, as I don't tend to annotate books, and I've never felt the need for 3G. I'd imagine it would only be of value for downloading books, as trying to browse the web on the e-ink screen is pretty frustrating. I guess it might be handy if you were abroad for work a lot, but that's about it.

I'm tempted by the Touch as well, as the only real niggle I have with the Kindle is the buttons on the sides are right where I want to put my fingers when I'm reading. The big unknown might be whether the finger marks would become distracting on the screen, although it might not be a problem as the screen's not backlit.

I have the full blown 3G keyboard version. Very rarely use the keyboard or 3G and I often wish it were smaller. HTH.

I set up & downloaded some books to the Wifes yesterday, it was a doddle, logged onto the WiFi no problem. I got her the base model. It's a gre at toy.

Got the missus a cheap one for christmas and think it works fine as most of the time you will jusst be gawping at words. Good interface and very clear screen.

Set it up to tether to her phone and it downloads books in the time it takes to return to the main menu.

The one frustration will be the touch which will probably be well priced and put the price of this one down to the £60 mark eventually. Seems good although as a sporadic reader its not too important for me. Also the price of the books is a bit of a shock at times.
