It's obviously still in alpha and S42 is is "soon" but just how buggy is it at the mo? I can't play it free at the moment as the PC needs some fettling and the free play ends on the 20th.
Worth the 40£?
I'll be playing Elite Dangerous too, I already own that but not played it, but it has to be said, the visuals and immersion of SC look stunning.
Thoughts?
This looks interesting!
Haven't played it, but doing a quick search it looks pretty awesome!
I thought about it, but even with the upgrade I did on my PC, the requirements for it to run well are past me. It looks amazing in the clips I have seen, but it feels like a scam that people are just throwing money att. The ships cost real money, right?
I have ED and I know there is a group on here that plays it. I recommend that you have a word with them because it's more fun to play cooperatively.
Been looking at it since it was released, recently released for the PS5 which is the only platform I have now. I did think about it but when reading reviews and pages dedicated to the game, it gets slated. Meanwhile No Man’s Sky is continuing to be supported by the developer, so I might go back to that.
I backed it on Kickstarter. I feel like I've been scammed. YMMV.
Bought into it when it first was announced with one of the starter packs. As time went by it started to seem more and more like a scam so I sold my account and got into Elite Dangerous instead (which I haven't played in years).
Star Citizen looks amazing and would generally go for something like this. But when I read about buying ships with real money it put me off.
I've got Elite Dangerous and No Man's Sky to play as well. The only problem I have is sinking enough hours into these games. Just don't have the time to play them at the moment.
Just been looking at the website page for Star Citizen.
You can try for free from 9th April to 20th April so you've got 3 days to try before deciding

I would lose hours playing NMS which is why I take breaks from it. It’s been a couple of years since I last played, been numerous upgrades since then.
It's infamous for being either the most horribly mismanaged game development in history, or a perfectly managed ponzi-scheme, depending on how you feel. I'd steer clear - no shortage of great games out there.

I'd ask for my money back, but that's worth a google for the horror stories too. People have published guides on how to get a refund, it's that diabolical.
Thanks guys, you all pretty much echoed what I've heard. I was hoping someone was actively playing it for a bit of first hand experience.
I know there's tonnes on YT and Reddit but I trust you lot more than the randoms on there...
Believe it or not! 😁

I just checked back in my emails, it's been in alpha for thirteen years.
