Why don't you email the guy and find things out for yourself, instead of spreading BS around.

The full suss frames were tipped at Todmorden by me, and are NOT safe to ride.

That can't be true Kelvin, it says that they're in very good condition!

Going at a steal. Top choice of words right there. Personally I would’ve gone with “Going for a steel” for double pun fun.

So the Hemlocks sound stolen.

And then this?

Mounts on the forks. Scuffed seat tube sticker from a?.... Frame bag? Maybe a very tall steerer tube?

Not sure so messaged the original(?) owner.

I presume he thought they would get recycled into a coke can or Airbus? 🙂

Just wondering how legit their route to gumtree was.....

Personally if they were dangerous then I'd have put a saw through them.

Interesting although I guess the bolt on the driveside link fell out first so it has double the normal load?

 instead of spreading BS around

Yeah, next time I see what looks like a stolen bike I won't bother. Hopefully it won't be yours.

yeah because if you email someone on gumtree selling stolen/dodgy bikes they are really going to fess up aren't they?

Oh look, first bike is 99.9% that one reported stolen and the frames are buggered and were scrapped...

It's thanks to someone posting something dodgy like this I managed to get a guy his bike back a few years ago.

Good luck andyjp. Did you get the link I sent from stolen bikes?

I guess screenshot it before the advert gets pulled and then send to police unless you know some big blokes in Calderdale. Maybe Google the phone number to see if other gumtree stuff etc gives clues to a location.

Yeah, you've not got this right.

Pointing out strangely locally advertised bikes is a useful public service. It's not accusatory of the advertiser - it does give someone who's lost an identifiable bike a chance to possibly recover theirs.

Contacting them to "ask" if it's stolen is ludicrous. It would accuse someone innocent directly and would cause a criminal to remove the advert. Lose lose.

I've known people recover stolen bikes this way - and also through STW.

Pipe down.

My mate is a big cyclist in Tod, I've asked him if he's seen the Escapade around town or know anyone that might.

A little update… the full suspension frames are now being treated as stolen by the council and police… just because something is taken for disposal doesn’t make it fair game for people to take it from the site and resell. Don’t be tempted to buy one…

I want something with power for the job. To use on the frames, not the chancer trying to sell them, obvs.
