Just wondering what the best way of avoiding currency exchange fees are. I have a Wise and a Revolut account but not sure if there's a better option.
I used to, WISE was the best I found!
Another vote for Wise, best option I’ve found.
Wise are very good but it might be worth speaking to someone like https://www.currenciesdirect.com/en as they might be able to advise better if it's a regular monthly wage, or if you can shore it up and transfer in bulk on a less frequent basis.
I use Wise as well, seamless for $$ in from different clients as they can pay with a US wire to a US account that is your Wise account and you convert to ££ when it suits.
Could you get your salary paid into a HSBC Dollar account?
I get paid in euros sometimes and have a starling euro account. There are fees but not massive. Its very easy to move money from my euro to sterling account so keep an eye on the rates and try to move it at a good time.
I use a revolut account for this. I get an IBAN for each country I operate in and the clients just pay to there. It’s OK. Rate is very good, but I have found revolut to be occasionally flakey.
I don’t get a salary in USD, but do get funds (stock sale) wired every six months from USD to GBP and use OFX.

Yes, you could, but Wise almost definitely cheaper, and way more convenient

Was gonna come in and suggest WISE but it seems like people have already done it lol. Good choice.
