We need a new fire at Gasket Towers, and thinking of going for a gas log burner, rather than a real log burner for ease of use etc. Looking at 4.5 to 6kW fires.
Anyone gone this route and can comment?
Conventional or balanced flue?
ta
We installed a balanced flue Gazco vision last year.

Balanced flue is more efficient than traditional flue IIRC.
It doesn't emit as much heat as a log burner (had one in previous place for 10 years) but it's easier, cleaner and looks almost as nice.
cheers. Same here. We've had a proper log burner for the last 15 years (in a different house) and they are great, but these days I'm after convenience, and the new house is much warmer so less need for big kW.
My Mum's got a balanced flue one and I've got to say its pretty convincing. She has to put a cup or so of water in it every few days and it uses steam to look like smoke.
I wasn't cold so I assume it was heating the place ok.
