I'll start,
When my boss gave me the description of what to do for my payed employment today all looked good.
Just dig a trench 100m long 600mm deep, should be done for lunch!
In the little excavator(6ton)air con+radio,sweet.
off i pop with the low loader & excavator to the job.
First problem, the little digger's TOO BIG.
Call the boss,no probs, I'll just hire one! only one he can get at Short notice comes with a driver!!
So I'm relegated to the bobcat(still got air con)
Weather forecast is for 30c,all is well until the bobcat throws a belt and breaks the fan.
Two hours later, and one big bodge job,the bobcats running but with NO AIR CON and the replacement fan is moving the HOT air the wrong way ie- into the cab!
summery-
No air con
No radio
Lunch time 30c
Sitting in a cab being fan forced hot air
This is the time to mention where I'm working!!
IN A ****ING GREENHOUSE
Not a pleasant day buy any means.
at least you didn't have to dig the trench by hand....
it'll only be few minutes till someone mentions a 'union' or health and safety etc.
I've had a bad start:
knocked off bike on way in to work
2 arguments with small minded middle management types
grrr
Too early to say
I just got a paper cut
at least you have a job. me, unemployed with lots of time but no money to buy new bits for the bike
it could be worse, it could be snowing
went to see calvin harris last night, then hit a computer lab to do some work on my essay. didn't do any work.
got woken up at 8.45 by my gf who asked if i had a 9am lecture. arse.
flatmate in the shower.
ran to uni buildings to use their bathrooms before the lecture started
did a smelly one...
came out to realise that my dissertation advisor, who i will be having a lot of contact with over the coming year could smell what i'd just produced.
then answered 'unfortunately, yes' to his question as to whether i would be attending his field trip this weekend - the 'unfortunately' slipped out by mistake - i now feel rather bad about this...
got to lecture, realised i had no pen or paper.
went to bank after lecture to find that i sent a cheque of £300 to someone a couple of months ago, but i've no idea who, and have no recolection of doing so - i need the money to pay rent.
now back in computer lab, i have 24 hours to write a 3000 word essay on bread, its my final year at uni and this counts for a lot of my modules mark.
i'm currently on 0 words.
shit.
Off work with man squirrel flu at the moment. Was hoping to go in today, but my head feels full of cotton wool.
Girl in my office has a hubby in the Grenadier Guards
sort of puts things in perspective...
it's 30c - how could it possibly be a bad day?
Got to the first job this morning and it looked like the back of the lorry had been burgled. One of the straps securing the load had broke and all hell had broke loose in there. Oh well...
30c outside
40c in greenhouse
50c in bobcat(felt like it) 🙄
