looking to cancel my current contract as its in my ex g/f's name and then get sky hd installed and just wondering whats the time between ordering and the install? ( ideally without missing any of the world cup! )
Will depend on the area and which engineers are available. Ring as soon as you can to be honest. The more you are available to stay at home the more chance you'll get it earlier.
we got ours on the run up to xmas and for everything to be installed- hd, t'internet and phone was about a month (we needed a weeknd installation though)...i'd call sooner rather than later.
Sure Sky are doing a self install at the moment where they just send you the hd box for free, but if you havent got sky+ they will need to come out anyway for cabling etc
Iif your current set up is old would push for this anyway as they would install everything brand new sure if you phone up they won't charge you anyway as their attitude seems to have changed recently with that ruling about having to sell their channels cheaper to the competition
under 2 weeks about 2-3 months ago, for the upgrade from sky to sky+hd
Ordered my Sky HD last tuesday (4th) - they did the install last Sunday afternoon (9th).
ask them about the sky hd world cup offer its half price packages for 12 months!
