There are a few cm on the ground here in Newcastle and it's still coming down quite heavily.

You can see where the showers have been running into the UK on the Met Office radar.

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

Looks like the NE of Scotland, SE of Scotland and NE of ENgland has had the most snow/rain at lower levels today.

I'm working between derby and Notts at the moment and it got up to a rather tropical 4 degrees today but not a flurry in sight! I did notice some bloke selling sledges in a lay-by yesterday!! 🙄

Aye just had a rather sketchy drive home. (Northumberland)

I hate that whole mesmerising snow in headlights thing, where you can't tell if you are moving or not.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh i hate the stuff in biking terms but i like the skiing side of snow. We have snow in north east scotland Aberdeen traffic at a standstill again.

Cycling home 4 miles from North Shields off road in the snow was fun but quite chilly when in shorts. 😕

that's ridiculous, they forecast this snow very accurately it would appear well over a week ago!!

Well when I was coming home from work there wasn't really any need for a gritters to be out as there wasn't actually much snow lying on the roads. They were out last night and there was plenty of grit on the roads this morning. Just because you can't see a gritter doesn't mean that they're not about. Yes the traffic was worse than normal during rush hour, but it wasn't that bad. Also there is no point in putting gritters out when there's loads of traffic, they are much better used when the roads are quiet.

We shouldn't bother with gritters let everyone just use winter tyres - I know my car is ****ing useless with 225/40/18 tyres on but because we dont get this often enough its not worth changing.

grantown area had a dump earlier. the neighbour pulled into the road at the back of the house and had his front end covered in snow so i take it he just drove from aviemore area to Inverness. cairngorm looks like its filling in fairly well at the base station too.

Snow in Aberdeenshire. Usual chaos I fear. Fair bit of ice to. Saw one car hit the kerb (to avoid running in to the traffic on the main road and a Tesco truck kissing a wall...
And I can just about see the sea from here...

About 3" here in Co Durham and proper blizzard conditions - I'm going out to find out how good Advantage 2.1 are in snow once the kids are at school.

A bit here - so the whole county has shut down. Doh!
