Due to turning into a fat turd I have decided to try and shed a few pounds so I am monitoring what I eat a lot more.

I have breakfast really early (7am) due to having a long commute to Uni so Im usually a bit peckish come 11am. I previously used to get a prebaked flapjack (40p) from the Uni shop but they are full of crap and probably arent doing me much good.

The other day I was in the supermarket and picked up a selection of snack bars and Im currently road testing them (Trackers, Frusli, Go Ahead and Eat Natural). Out of all of them the Eat Natural ones have been the best but they are the most expensive (£2.50 for 3 bars).

Anyone know of any others that are worth considering? Any specialist suggestions (sports based ones) that I can get online at a good price?

aye make your own. a bit of hassle to begin with but once you master the process its easy peasy and you can make them as healthy and cheap as you like.

Jordan's Frusli bars

Oatmeal "cholestoral-munching" goodness (and fruit and stuff)

Blueberry and Wild Berry are my faves

Dunno how healthy they are, but Soreen Go bars are pretty tasty and filling.

Jaw wrenchingly strong black coffee, by the pint. Keeps hunger pangs at bay until lunch for me.

At risk of pointing out the obvious how healthy they are is largely irrelevent compared to how many calories they have in them.
I.e a nice home made flapjack with all organic ingredients may be lovely and wholesome, but you're still going to be a lard-arse if it's got more calories than a packet of cheesy wotsits 🙂
