i've got shocking radio reception in my vw t5 whenever i go further east than bodmin - literally cannot get anything on the motorways up through bristol and up north - so wondering about these dab adapters you can get for around 50quid, anyone use one?
yes mate, ive just got meself kitted out with one from dabonwheels. i now have 6music in the car all the time and im sooooooooo happy 🙂 no more moyles!!
it cost about £35 for a small 'clarity' adapter which lives in my armrest, plugged into aux (altho it can also just be scanned by the normal car radio on 87.5 i think it is so you dont need aux). i experimented with aerials and in the end went for a magnetic aerial as it gave better performance than a 'stick on windscreen' type. it also suits me as if i ever use the works van, i can just take it out me car stick the aerial on the van, adapter on front seat, tune to 87.5 and im away again. 6 musics GREAT!!!!
i didnt want a cable showing on my car roof, so mines actually on the tailgate and the cable tucks neatly along the side of the glass, so virtually unseen. i could get same result on the roof near the front so the cable goes along the edge of windscreen and into car, but i think it looks better on the tailgate.
if you need the exact models, ill dig the details out for you. dabonwheels were great tho and let you trial stuff for 45 days to see if you get on with it.
hope that helps 🙂
I got a refurbished pure highway for about that, Its great, no more vanessa sodding feltz in the mornings.
