You may as well buy new..... Ones hold their value very well.

It really depends on what you want from them. A pair of Play 1's will out perform a Playbar in terms of musical performance, however the player is really designed for TV use.
I bought a Playbar and was a little underwhelmed until I added the Sub. The pair together is not cheap but sound great.
I also run 2 x Play 1's as rear speakers and having played with them as a stereo set they defiantly sound better than a Playbar on it's own.
