Wonder if anyone has chartered a boat on the Thames?
Planning on doing it for my 40th, though still sorely tempted to hide in a cave.
Seen a few options online but looking for any recommendations if anyone has any?
Will be for around 60 people, including a few kids, not sit down dinner but more a buffet and drinks.
Nope, but have been on corporate bashes on some.
Dreadful in every way. Everyone is trapped. So, just imagine one, or some, of those kids get fed up and want to leave. Nowhere to go.
Food usually average at best. Ditto booze.
Find a nice pub with a room, do that instead. Can recommend some if you have any ideas on location.
Oh, and happy birthday in advance!
Hide in a cave..
With 5 bottles of 20yr old malt.
HTHs.
Yes and it was great. Loaded the boat with a jazz quartet , mind boggling quantities of bacon sandwiches and enough cava to float Wembley . Bloody brilliant way of seeing the capital.
Golden jubileeย i think it was called
We chartered a beautiful steam launch from French Brothers in Windsor for my 50th this summer. Jazz band, buffet lunch, drinks laid on. Was simply the very best day imy family have had for ages - and after the year before, we needed it. Plenty of children, who all had a good time too. Afternoon, not evening. Sunny as well.
It was not a cheap day, but it has left memories for the next 50 years.
French Brothers are a slick operation, and the Thames is nicer in Windsor.
We did one a few years back. Westminster to Greenwich and back.
It's really just like any other party but with a slowly changing background. If you like the people you're with then you'll enjoy it. Otherwise, well at least you can find a quiet spot and watch the city go by. Fairly boring east of the Tower unless you find bank HQs exciting.
