I can't get it to install, like thousands of others...

No problems here. It's speeded up the wifi on my Acer laptop.

Yep, nice improvement. Don't like the search pulling in web stuff - have to get that switched off. Loving the offline skydrive. Means we can save stuff on one machine and pick it up on another or in a browser elsewhere. Really nice when you are fed up with the family asking where they have saved their files

I think that I will wait until after we have fibre put in otherwise it will take ages to download.

Yup installed it yesterday. 3.62 GB downloaded rather erratically in about 40 mins, reboot, licence agreement and boom Windows 8 but it works like Windows 7. Never see an app again.

Only minor hiccup was using the Microsoft account to log on, easily remedied by disconnecting the account and using a local profile once the upgrade was complete.

Done upgrade on Friday night - no probs. Appears to be identical to 8...

I'm running it but I don't see what all the pre-launch hype was about as there doesn't seem to be much difference (at least on the surface) from 8, although I can now go to the horrible Metro interface from a Start Button!
