Amazing sight to see in your back garden!😁👍
Wow! Fantastic.
Fantastic, I only get that much excitement round the feeder when the sparrowhawk drops in for lunch
sure its not a squirrel in fancy dress?
That's brilliant - (roughly) where are you?
This is Henley-on-Thames and unfortunately it’s not my garden we’re just checking in on an Aunt and she puts chicken out for them.
That's great!
Great stuff. I could spend all day watching Red Kites. Has it affected the other bird life in her garden though?

👏🏻😁
That is cool, I’ve only ever seen them from far below.
They're baby Robin's.
Amazing. I'm near Derby, kites have only just reached us round here, I've heard reports of sightings 10-15 miles either side of us but not seen any yet
Brilliant action. They are everywhere now round here (Oxfordshire) pretty soon they are going to get the same status as seagulls if people keep feeding them.
There are (I think) 12 pairs that have our village as part of their patch.
Get loads in Newbury too, majestic birds, if you want to see loads wait for a farmer to plow a field!!!
We had a couple circling the area near us the other weekend, I love to see them. I sat out waiting with the camera, unfortunately my 70-200mm for my Nikons is in being repaired, so the 18-135 on the Fuji had to do. Not a perfect shot, but I'm happy enough with it 🙂

Not that I know, she only puts chicken out for the Kites once a week the rest of the time it’s normal stuff.
While I was filming this plenty of other birds visited the feeders.
The kites never worry the other birds in the garden and in fact they are regularly seen off by smaller birds defending their nests.
Ours don’t go to the hanging feeders, just take stuff off the lawn.
I grew up in Oxfordshire mad often went back to mtg in the Chiltern hills. We used to cycle from Wallingford towards Ibstone near Turvile about 12 miles away. We having a pub lunch there and were amazed to see a pair of huge red kites flying above, i think they were some of the first kites to be re introduced.
Sat in the garden in Wallingford 5 or 6 years later, looked up to see about 50 flying above the estate. Amazing creatures but best not to feed them, breeding wise they're like the rabbits of the air, their reintroduction has been more successful than can possibly have been imagined,
Great stuff.
We're a mile from a breeding and feeding centre for kites (Argaty). They're almost as common as Robins around here. Stately birds on the wing.
