I'm looking for something that I can use on my iphone (and possibly also with PC). any recommendations? Preferably one off payment rather than subscription (ideally free! :D)

Lastpass here as it's "in the cloud" so I can access them from anywhere, does require an element of trusting them not to get hacked though... To that end my email and banking passwords aren't in it!

Keypass (which is free) with the password file & Keyfile synced using dropbox.

I use it on android, again syncing the files via dropbox. I'm sure this would work on iPhone

+1 for 1Password. Synced via dropbox.

Just works. I use it everyday.

+1 for KeyPass. You can put the password file on Dropbox or for the ultra-paranoid you can keep it on a small dedicated USB stick and just plug it in when required. It is free, dead easy to use and does the cool thing of having an option to copy the password to the clipboard so all you need to do on a website is paste it in. This prevents keylogging applications learning your password. After 30 seconds it is cleared from the clipboard.

Lastpass here. Used to be keypass with dropbox sync but can't use dropbox / cloud sync at work so was having to email myself kdbx files when I updated them at work.

Lastpass solves all that.

Lastpass here as well. Pay for premium so I can get it on my iPhone, which is wonderfully integrated now with TouchID and extensions. Well worth the cost.

They've behaved in exactly the way I'd want when they had a potential security issue. Good discussion of the (lack of) access they have to your passwords here too.

1Password here, on iOS and Yosemite, with syncing via iCloud.

Main reason I went for it was the one off payment model, rather than a subscription.

Plus the apps, iOS, OSX, Windows, Android, are well done, with browser plugins for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE etc, although no web access might be an issue for some.

Here's an annoying video:

Keeper works for me. Syncs and all that to different devices. I still flap about forgetting the master password though!

Dashlane here. Used it for a year across all devices at home and work. Not only does it sync everything but it also generates passwords, pre-complete known logins on auto-stored pages, provides categories and has its own browser.

Excellent IMO.
