Off in 5 weeks and realised passports out of date, anybody renewed online and if so how long did it take? I could fast track it but it a lot more money and a 65 mile drive

It's a really slick, hugely improved service. You should be fine. I did two recently, about 11 days each.

Yeah same experience as above. Quite impressive to be fair, text message to say old one received and new one despatched.
Probably a total of 2 weeks.

Did mine 18 months ago. Very easy. Hardest bit was getting an acceptable photo back then. Dis mine with a camera phone in the end against the lounge wall.

Quiet time of year. Outside chance half term might add a few days.

Mine and daughters recently took around a week, ours sons needed more info and a form filling and proper photos taking, but once they had them it was less than a week.

Wife did it online last weekend - I posted the old one off last Monday, she got an email Friday saying that the new one was on its way

Mine ran out on the 18th.

Paid money and used online form with digital photo on the 17th.

Sent old passport off 1st recorded on Wednesday this week, got new one yesterday.

Hugely impressed with the service throughout.

Never mind the time scales, the important question is yet to be asked; are they blue?

Did mine last month and like the others above it took about a week to 10 days.

Never mind the time scales, the important question is yet to be asked; are they blue?

No.

Same as above, just over a week.

Did photo with the phone, but took a few attempts to get something it would accept. Need a blank untextured background and ideally even light. I couldn't avoid a bit of shadow it rejected so ended up editing it, though it says they don't accept edited photos, but it did and got the passport.

Not blue, just same as old but without EU mentioned.

Did mine about 4 weeks ago. I got a new picture taken at a place in town, they emailed a link which I used on the online application. I think from the date of submitting the application to the passport being delivered was 10 days.

No.

They don't have European Union written on them anymore though...

Plenty of passport covers available with a variety of wording and colours.

We got all four of ours earlier this summer. Same as above, took a couple of weeks max.

If you go to a photo shop (If there's any left near you) they will take the picture, check it complies then upload it for you. You just enter a code online. Cost £10.

I'm expecting the French to spit on these passports.
