Any type 2 diabetics on the forum? I'm technically a type 2, though I can keep my A1C low enough to not need medication when I eat correctly and bike regularly. That said I never know how to properly fuel myself before a ride. I don't know where my sugar should be before a ride and during a ride and I don't know how to properly recover without filling my body with sugar. I eat as low sugar / low GI carb as I can all day every day. All of the recovery drinks I've seen seem as if they would spike my blood sugar, which is the opposite of what I want to do.
Any advice from Type 2's here regarding riding nutrition? I thank you in advance.
