Evening STWers,

I'm visiting the Rhossili area on Saturday and will be looking to eat in the early evening after a day of walking. I don't mind a bit of a drive (circa 30 mins) and I'm thinking a nice country pub. It has to be dog friendly too.

Thanks in advance.

Twodogs - flexible on costs so long as it's good!

Locals and folk who have been recently might say different, but The Bay Bistro did us a good dinner a couple of years ago. Above Worm's Head end of the beach, good views and happy with the dog. Website says they shut at 5 though, so maybe give them a ring.

Was about to say bay bistro, I love it there, great nasi goreng.

Not many dog friendly pubs on gower to be honest. The King Arthur in Reynoldston is a popular pub but don't think it allows dogs.

The joiners in Bishopston is dog friendly, brews it's own beer (very good) and does nice pub food but it's about on your 30 minute limit

The Greyhound is OK a little way past Llanrhidian but I like the Kings head in Llangennith decent food, OK for pups, good beer.

+1 King's Head, Llangennith. Basic food of the pub variety. Usually a decent all or two on the pumps. Seem to remember they specialize in curries/curry night?, Have never tried one. All of the pubs on the Gower can be very quiet out of season so it pays to bring one's own cheer in spades.

Many thanks for the great suggestions. Luckily the weather is looking great for a day on the beach 😀

Looks like a bit of lunch at The Bay Bistro and then for dinner it's between The Kings Head or The Beach House (although The Beach House doesn't say if its dog friendly on its website).
