I mean choristers, singers in bands, etc. as opposed to sing in the shower types.

My daughter loves singing, always has. And she can hold a tune reasonably well in terms of pitch. But she's developed this habit of singing using only her mouth and nose and getting that thin childish sound rather than a proper lungful.

Any good online resources / exercises to help her. I keep suggesting to her to sing from her cheast, not her mouth but she doesn't know what i mean and I can't tell her properly myself.

I am glad you know enough to identify your daughter's interest and talent, and also that she may be starting to develop incorrectly. Seriously. That said, why not get her signed up with a proper teacher?

(I am not a 'proper singer', but have had some training.)

how old is she?

+1 lessons

breathing practices are good, developing control of the diaphragm is important.... im pretty sure a google of 'breathing exercises for singing' or something similar will throw up some online tutorials, youtube etc.
