[Closed] Any portable de-humidifiers/aircon units that don't require a vent?

I'd prefer aircon to evaporative coolers because the house suffers from poor ventilation but we have patio-style doors in the bedroom, not windows, so it's tricky to properly vent the room. Don't really fancy knocking a hole through the brickwork either.

Not thought about aircon but I use a Delongi portable dehumidifier with an internal 5L tank for my kitchen. Seems to do the job fine. Main use is when I'm drying washing. Cost around £200 at the time, same style can now be got a lot cheaper.

Yep. These people: Probreeze,

I have 4 of them of various sizes dotted around various houses where tenants have excessive condensation issues. Let’s not go there.

For the last 5 months or so they’ve been faultless, running pretty much constantly from what I understand, using the humidity control and happy residents. Bonus.

Anyway, I’m particularly impressed with the 12litre unit as it’s quiet and very usable features. Relatively inexpensive too and they’re often running discounts.

Air con or de-humidifier. An air con will de-humidify, but it needs to be vented - we have a modern house that get's too hot upstairs in summer, so have the air con unit on the landing, vented out of the bathroom window.

De-humidifier, then we have one with a tank. That's used in winter in the conservatory, or in the house if drying clothing.

Not sure what your house is like but I installed a PIV system and it massively reduced the condensation in our house.

An air con unit has to vent somewhere - it's taking heat from one place and dumping it somewhere else.

With a remote unit Aircon only requires smaller holes.
