Think my Gainsborough Ambassador had died, it will no longer turn off. I've whipped it apart and can't see anything obvious, and there doesn't seem to be anything that might be fixable.
A quick look on the web shows the main gubbins can be had for about £80, or the entire unit for about £120. The current unit is about 10yrs old, so happy to replace it if required. Just wondering if its likely to be a direct swap or is there going to be more plumbing involved, ie different fitting dimensions.
On the same front, are there other shower units that would fit without having to replumb?
Cheers.
Oh, ps, should have said, its the exposed version, so all the plumbing is sticking out of the wall.
At £120 for a new one, I'd just swap it out and put a new one in. Modern showers are all push fit fittings, so fitting them is a doddle (assuming the glands are in the same place as the old one).
Cheers for the reply footflaps. Agree with you, have ordered a new one 🙂
