Hello,

To cut a very long story short a friend (who has helped me out) has just graduated with a 1st from a nutrition degree, aiming to become a dietition or similar.

Is there anyone on here that can help/offer advice/work experience/anything constructive to my friend?

I wouldn't ask but STW has helped me out before, so hopefully someone can help.

If you prefer not to post up, my email is: jonwalla24@gmail.com and I can put you in touch.

Big Thank You folks!

There's plenty of experts on here, they'll be along shortly. It's just there's a bit of a queue at Gregg's at the moment.

* shakes/pours tiny bits of crisp from bottom of packet, and burps* ... I am neither nutritionist or dietician but:

You need to have a degree in nutrition & dietetics, (or straight dietetics iirc) to become a dietician so if his/her degree is in nutrition, your friend can cross that one off the list unless he/she fancies a further two or three years at university.

I have a friend who is qualified as a dietician but went from "stop smoking specialist" to drug rep. You could make a case to do either of these jobs with a degree in nutrition since many band 5 smoking cessation adviser/officer posts do not necessarily requre a professional registration, and drug rep jobs certainly don't. 😆

My cousin-in-law is a nutritionist by qualification/trade, but works in public health, doing all sorts of doom and gloom contingency planning for major spillages/contamination/toxicological/ecological disasters.

That there "Dr" Gillian McKeith is a nutritionist, but then she also has the same doctorate that (Medical) Dr Ben Goldacre famously managed to get from the internet for his dog. She's done alright for money though!
