Is there a way to get it to mark a message as read when you view it in the preview pane?

Other than right click on the message in your inbox and select "Mark as" then "Read"?

Or "Edit" then "Unread marks" then "Mark selected read"?

edit... and it's officially the world's most sh**e piece of software ever invented.
i could raise 1 bug/usability report per day, every day for a year, and I'd still have a shedload of issues to report.

1. Highlight message(s).
2. Hit "insert" key.

File>Preferences>Basic Notes Client Configuration
Additional Options - select "Mark documents read when opened in preview pane"

That would be the intuitive thing. Or highlight and hit a "Mark as Read" icon in the toolbar.

Sadly (at least this version of) LN is such an unintuitive PoS that neither of those options are there (by default). On a positive note though, LN does at least let you create your own toolbars to put all the useful actions on that should have already been there in the first place.

I know how to mark as read. I just didn't want to have to do it manually, cos that would be a pain.

btbb has it though - that is magic, and I didn't think there would really be an option for it.

I love you, man, seriously. My email was a right mess because my inbox was full of stuff I'd read that was still marked unread, so actually unread stuff was going missing. This makes my life much easier 🙂
