Looking for a megabargain, cheap external drive, preferably solid state and 500- 1Tgb.
Anyone spotted anything?

Hmmm, I would be interested as well as I need to back up a lot of stuff, mainly photos.

Cheap and SSD cannot be used in the same sentence. A 500GB SSD will cost you over £1000.

You can get a 1TB Seagate drive for £50.

What's the big advantage of solid state for backing up stuff?

faster backup (perhaps unimportant) - otherwise somewhat lighter and more robust but far more expensive

I got a 2TB WD Elements external hard drive from Amazon today for £99. Backup running at 20MB/sec over USB

So, nobody seen any good deals around for a 500-1tb then? Pixum and Tesco best I've seen so far.
