[Closed] Any good Astronomy books?

I love watching astronomy programs on TV, looking into getting a book or two about it. The only problem I see is that maybe parts of the book could be out of date by the time its published! I'm interested in the whole parallel universe thing, and about what was there before the big bang, etc. Anyone got some suggestions?
