Sorry if this reads wrong- im stressed to the max. My boiler has lost 1bar and cut out - theres a leak on the radiator ho****er feed. It looks like its coming from the big nut that sits above/ontop of the red lever/water on/off feed on that pipe (that then runs into the boiler from underneath. A guess but can this big nut sometimes come lose with time? I'm 90% sure its that and not further up inside the boiler.

Inside (above is a white toothpaste looking cap that sits upright with a hole in the top. At the foot of this was a blob of liquid. After an hour this blob had disappeared but the cap itself looks like its designed to leak something
If this makes sense?!!

That's the only thing internally that I can see. I tightened the nut and refilled the boiler and it ran all fine with no leaks 5-10mins running).

Could it be just this nut? 5yrs/boiler lives in a outhouse).

Sounds like a sloppy flange. Have you got an adjustable cranker?

Toothpaste cap is maybe an auto air vent?
