Hi, as title! I've had enough of it and am going to start selling my kit, all top end stuff. Not sure if its worth putting a listing on here as OT, so just checking first!

Start sea fishing like me, much more boring but I still love it, AND IF you catch anything (which you probably won't) you can sometimes eat it.

I'm used to not catching anything! Only 2 caught this year in england! Sea fishing is much to cold for me! At least if your fishing from the beach you wont be far from a chip shop i suppose! Since i discovered night riding, camping out all weekend seems incredibly dull, the only good thing is the bacon sarnies every morning

Wrong time of year to bag the big ones mate, early Feb they will start ground feeding again.

This time of year the water temperature is dropping so it changes the way they use and store food.

I just have to look at the 18 x 18 x 10 ft pond full of koi in the back garden to see how they feed and behave. They have shown me lots on how they they feed in winter.

Sea or fly, the only way.

Anything else is an excuse to sulk on the side of a dull lake in camo clothing.....

Guilty as charged. I've just spent 2 nights next to a lake and when I got back Mrs SP asked whether I had been fishing or invaded the Falklands.

Anyway, mickasaki, what have you got to sell?

Keep the gear and just use it in summer. I've downsized loads and only fish in the summer now when its much nicer to sit out with a beer etc and enjoy the surroundings etc a bit more.

[hijack] - if anyone's down in Sussex and looking for fishing gear I've got a complete setup I keep meaning to itemize and sell. 5xrods / reels, rigs, bivy, chairs, the lot. Easier if someone can come and look in person[/hijack]

Much like the OP I wish I got more chance to use it but it's really not looking very likely. Only managed 2 or 3 trips in the last year.

I can't fly fish to save my life, I can even get a nest in a fly line! I can chuck a 6oz sinker a fair distance though. Sea fishing's the way for me! (even though I'm 60 miles from the bliddy coast!)
