My Peugoet 206 is 7 years old and has done about 72k. I've taken it to the garage and it's been given the all clear. The mechanic there says he understands what I am saying, having test driven it and checked it underneath on the ramps, but can't find anything wrong with it.
When I do a right hand turn on near full lock at low speed, there is a grinding noise through the steering column. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks in advance.
CV joint maybe
Probably a dry cv joint at a guess. Does it clonk or click? You might get away with regreasing it.
A stone stuck in the discs? (seriously)
There is no clicking sound. Sometimes when I turn right on full lock, there is a bit of a clonk, but definately a grinding sound and vibration through the steering column. It feels like I've driven over a stone which has flicked out, causing a bit of a judder. It's really wierd.
Wheels catching on shit guards?
