what's a typical day rate ?

Are you looking to become a freelance developer or do you need some work doing. If the latter I may know someone who can help.

Like all things contracting 'it depends'
As a rough guide from £200 - £500/day depending on where it is and what it is.
Very technical stuff/specific knowledge/central London may demand higher rates.

someones offered me some work plugin development for 3ds Studio Max and asked what my day rate would be.

Our day rate for max is around 500 a day and that's just drawing the pictures 😉
