Hi
Would like to know what side of the Plaster Board I can
use Lining Paper on ?
I thought that the once golden rule of white side facing out if taping and jointing, and grey side out if skimming, no longer applied, and it was now white side always out whatever you're doing, so presumably also when applying lining paper. But I'm not a tacker so could be talking crap.
EDIT : Just thought - if it's new plasterboard you're going to have to tape and joint anyway - so white side out. Why are you applying lining paper to new plasterboard btw ? it makes no sense 😕
the side that faces out! :p
The stuff I've just erected had "plaster other side only" written on it.
I know the boards have beveled edges for taping and skimming..? So those should be facing out?
Tape & joint feather edged boards, no lining paper
All boards don't come with taper edge, normal are just square edge. If you look closely at the outer face the paper laps around on the bound edges on to the back of the board creating a little overlap of paper. The side with the overlap is the back of the board. Hth
Decorative side out (Yep old rule no longer applies)
what wrightyson says is spot on.
