I quite like flash. What's the alternative?

Its Si - nice work. Do you still work with Brahm? I am an ex-Brahmer (left there 5 years ago to set up Mixd).

jQuery can do lots of things in a simplified and more accessible way. Granted Flash is needed for complex stuff.

Hi coffeeking - well, in the case of the site we were looking at, I'd probably use jquery to do the little animations - then at least they would get indexed by Google etc and be visible on iPhone etc.

I'm not saying that I'd never use Flash, just avoid it as much as is possible...

Agree althegear

Here is a page we did using jQuery - looks like Flash but a fraction of the development time as well as much more accessible.

I like it, mastiles. That type of thing is where jQuery makes so much sense. Wordpress eh? Ever used Drupal? Seems to be my life at the moment and uses jQuery as it's client-side tool by default. Really good stuff...

She wanted Flash but had used her budget on the homepage...

To be honest I haven't used Drupal, but I haven't used jQuery either (yes, it was in WordPress) - I do the design - the technical team put it all together, so thanks to Matt, the BMX King, for that one ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh right, I think if I were building from scratch I'd create the flash site (I normally only use it for small animations and little interactive bits due to the low filesize ability) and then create a script that directed you to a text/image based version if you were a bot or phone.
