Applicants must also be confident in their personal physical abilities as the role requires considerable crossing of remote, rugged terrain in all weathers. Vehicular access to many parts of the island is not possible or appropriate for conservation reasons. [/url]
possibly not for everyone.

Oh man, I was an archaeologist in a former life. 5 years ago I'd have bitten your arm off for an opportunity like this.

I hope whoever gets it has a fantastic summer.

Snap. Having in-depth knowledge of the Palaeolithic isn't the easiest thing to turn into a career... but it was fun. 😀

Hey No teeth, where and when? I was at MoLAS for quite a while, 2000-ish, as well as shed-loads of other units, you know how it is.

Wessex for a little while (a long time ago). Undergrad & then postgrad Palaeolithic stuff.

Might still do some part-time research, if I can find enough hours...

Do you know Jacki Mckinley of Time Team fame Noteeth?
My mate was 'very friendly' with her when she was in 6th form at Durham.

No. I've met a few of the TT bunch, but so do most archaeologists at some point. Having a pint with Alice Roberts was probably the highlight... 😳
